On Dec. 30 Toronto Sun reports that the, now retired, comedian and rapper could me looking at felony child endangerment charges after police found marijuana and hand guns in his house where his children live. In his defense, Williams states that, "[When] the police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes, you’re gonna find guns!" At least he was keeping them safe in a gun case.
This all started when Katt Williams got a visit from LA County Department of Children and Family Services came to inspect and found the questionable items in the house with his four children. Child and Family Services claimed that it was a safety hazard and he was arrested and later released on $100,000 bail. He is adamant that marijuana is not a drug and he needs his guns to protect his kids, therefore, he won't be backing down if this becomes a full fledged case.
Later that same night that he was released on bail, Katt found himself an innocent bystander to a bar brawl that his friend, Marion "Suge" Knight, was in. Williams was seen walking away from the fight when police came to the scene. There was no word on whether the star was involved. Katt Williams is set to find out whether he will be held on criminal child endangerment charges later this week.
What do you think? Do you think that he has the right to keep his guns even in a house with children? Is the Los Angeles Police Department attempting to make an example of him because he's a star?
