Small screen projects are drawing a lot of big screen names and/or former primetime players these days. One likely addition to join the list is actress Katie Holmes who last starred in a television series ‘Dawson’s Creek’ 11 years ago. More recently, Holmes guest-starred on two episodes of the CBS comedy hit ‘How I Met Your Mother.’

Since that time she has married and divorced box office megastar Tom Cruise, given birth to daughter Suri and acted in several films. This yet to be titled television drama is the brainchild of writer Richard LaGravense and will be directed by Taylor Hackford.

The series is said to be set in modern-day New York City and will feature Katie Holmes as Ann, a high-society socialite of good breeding and expensive education plus she runs a philanthropic foundation with her husband.

And then there is this other couple, Phillip and Margot, who seem to be thorns in her upper-crust side and have nothing else better to do than try to destroy Ann’s marriage. Wow, can you imagine being married to a man who is catty?

Until such time, Katie Holmes will be seen on the big screen in August in the film adaption of the classic novel “The Giver.”
