A model with experience as a TV actress was crowned Saturday as Miss New Mexico USA 2013.
Kathleen "Katie" Danzer was crowned by outgoing Miss New Mexico USA 2012 Jessica Martin in ceremonies at Las Cruces Convention Center.
Danzer will represent New Mexico at the Miss USA Pageant. If she wins the national crown, she will represent the United States at the Miss Universe Pageant.
The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants are co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC Universal.
"I like to go by Katie, rather than Kathleen," she wrote on her website. "I started modeling when I was around 15 years old and finally got professional work and real shoots around the age of 17-18 years old. I then started getting into the acting scene, where I have really enjoyed showing a different side of being in front of the camera. I have modeling for clothing companies to bikini companies all the way to boxing companies, with many different areas in between. As far as acting, I have appeared in a ton of TV shows, both as background, stand-in characters and featured speaking roles."
Among her TV credits are "Crash," "In Plain Sight" and "Easy Money."
