Katie Couric is distressed over receiving some odd 911 calls according to New York City police and reported by MSN on Feb. 14. There have been police sent to Couric's Manhattan home three times in the last three weeks because of 911 calls that have been traced to a phone listed there. When the 911 operator answers the call, they only hear static but police still have to answer each call they receive.
The phone calls always come on Tuesdays at 2 a.m. and police are investigating whether Couric is a victim of some high tech prankster or if there is something wrong with the phone. The phone is listed to her dead husband, Jay Monahan, and is a home phone. There have been at least 10 of these strange 911 calls made since last month.
Couric was so worried that she called Raymond Kelly who is the Police Commissioner. Most of the calls have been made when Katie has been out of town. She explains that after each bizarre call, she has a terrible time getting back to sleep for several hours. She tosses and turns usually until about 4:30 a.m.
