On last night's "Kathy," Kathy Griffin hosted three stars from the most watched three shows on television. Her opening monologue stated that it was a tough week for comedy. With the man who was lost in the Florida sinkhole, the TSA allowing small knives on airplanes, Oscar Pistorius accused of murdering his girlfriend, a new pope to be elected and the HIV baby cured. She felt that she could not do those stories justice, so she did her impressions of those who could do the stories with more grace than she. She did Oprah, Cher, Celine Dionne, Miley Cyrus and Nancy Grace each telling the stories in their own special way with a Kathy Griffin twist.
Kathy's three guests were Pauley Perette, Kunal Nayyar and Jaime Pressly. Pauley stars on "NCIS," Kunal is Rajesh Koothrappali on "The Big Bang Theory," and Jaime plays Jake's girlfriend Tammy on "Two and a Half Men."
Kathy has been watching diligently the trial of Jodie Arias, who is accused of stabbing her boyfriend multiple times and shooting him. This trial takes place in Arizona where the jurors are allowed to question the defendants. Earlier in the show she discussed the case with her 92-year-old mother, Maggie and her assistant Tiffany. Now she is bringing this up with her panel. They discussed the change Arias made from hot blonde to frumpy brunette. Kathy also pointed out that she has a full-on herpes sore on her mouth. She told the panel that when she did stand-up in a prison, she found out that some women in prison are called "LURDS," that stands for Lesbian until release date and men are called "GURDS," for gay until release date. They wonder if her herpes sore is because she is a "LURD?"
Kathy proceeded to make fun of Taylor Swift, who took offense to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who stated that she should stay away from Michael J. Fox's son.
Kathy also brought up the so-called pictures of a UFO from Russell Crowe while he was looking for fruit bats in Australia. She attempted to get her panel to say something to the fact that he is crazy, but nobody would bite, except they questioned why he would be looking for bats in the first place?
She mentioned that her three guests all were from scripted shows, but she prefers to watch reality shows. She confessed that she was hooked on a Spike-TV show "Bar Rescue." She explained that Jon Taffer was an ex-Marine who comes to crappy bars that are falling apart. He tries to convince the owners to change; sort of like "Tabitha Takes Over," but for straight people. She showed a clip of last week's show at "The Brixton" where Jon was in the face of the owner, who did not want any loud customers. Kathy loved Jon's phrase; "if I bum you out, maybe you will change." She said she used that phrase on many of her boyfriends.
Then she asked the guests if any ever were servers or bartenders, which they all conceded that they were. Jaime confessed that she was a hostess and got her chance to be a server, but after thirty minutes, was back as the hostess when she nearly poured a salad on a woman who gave her attitude.
Kathy is happy that Barbara Walters is back on "The View" and when she heard that Hugo Chavez died, Barbara was the first person she thought of, because she interviewed him several times. Barbara shared a fact that Chavez drank 26 cups of coffee a day.
On "Shahs of Sunset," Kathy showed a clip where fans got to know more about MJ than even Kathy knew. When MJ was asked if she was still seeing Drizzy; she said that they were trying to rekindle their spark. Reza laughed out loud and said that he was being Tweeted pictures of him at a D.C. gay club. He also said that MJ was getting double-stuffed at the Peninsula Hotel by two Jewish cousins from Philadelphia, and that everything about her is fake. Kathy asked the guests if they knew what "double stuffed" meant? She found a website that gave strange definitions for sexual acts. She mentioned one that was completely off the wall, but did not say what "double stuffed" referred to.
