Kathie Glass, Libertarian Party candidate for Texas governor, is bringing her "254 Tour" and her big yellow tour bus to the Metroplex counties over Labor Day weekend and she needs your help.
You can start this Friday, August 29 or Saturday, August 30 by staffing a booth at the Americans for Prosperity's 8th Annual "Defending the American Dream Summit" at the Dallas Omni Hotel. But event organizers require that even volunteers must have a $20 ticket so check out the details in advance and use the promo code TXAFP.
If you're into election campaign block-walking but would like to do it from the comfort of a big yellow air-conditioned tour bus your chance to do just that comes Friday evening, August 29. The bus leaves the Dallas Omni Hotel at 5:30 pm and makes its way through a Big D neighborhood where you can hop on and off the crowd-attracting vehicle while knocking on doors for the Kathie Glass Campaign.
Your next opportunity to help the campaign comes Sunday afternoon, August 31 when you can attend a Volunteer Workshop at Spring Creek Barbeque in Grapevine. During this approximately one hour session you'll learn strategies for helping the campaign from now through the 2014 Elections in November.
And the most fun event of all may come on Monday morning, September 1, when you can walk with Glass and her tour bus in the Garland Labor Day Parade. Here's how her campaign describes this event:
"Walkers are needed to walk alongside the bus to help keep kids away from the bus and hand out literature. Kathie Glass for Governor T-shirts will be offered to participants. Libertarian candidates are welcome to join, and several are already planning to do so. This is a great event for older children, who are welcome to walk with the group and bus."
The Glass Campaign has supplied the following information to the Dallas Libertarian Examiner:
