Atlanta-based artist Katherine Mitchell is really getting around this week. The talented Georgia artist mingled with her fans at a reception at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA GA) on Thursday night, followed by a gallery talk for her current exhibition. And this weekend (and through Feb. 5), Mitchell is also being featured at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
Next weekend will wind down the exhibit that the High actually began in September of last year, seeking to honor selected artistic works from MOCA GA, which included Mitchell.
However, Mitchell is but one of several MOCA artists being featured at the High through next weekend, which also include artists Larry Jens Anderson, Don Cooper, Herbert Creecy, and Kojo Griffin, as well as Medford Johnston, Larry Walker and Rocio Rodriguez.
The High exhibit, "Trading Places, Part 1: Selected Works from the Collection of MOCA GA at the High" is curated by Annette Cone-Skelton, the director of MOCA GA, as well as the High's Michael Rooks.
Saturday hours at the High are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with members (and children 5 and under) enjoying free admission. Admission cost for children aged 6-17 is $11. Students--and seniors 65 and older--pay $15 per person. Other adults pay $18.
