Katherine Heigl speaks out about her career betraying her

Katherine Heigl was in a career high when she was on the show "Grey's Anatomy." Now she is speaking out and says that she feels like her career actually betrayed her a bit. On Wednesday, ABC shared what she had to say about her career and how she felt about it for a while.

She told Marie Claire UK."I had an amazing time. I love romantic comedies. But maybe I hit it a little too hard. I couldn’t say no. I stopped challenging myself. It became a bit by rote and, as a creative person, that can wear you down." After that she took time off to focus on her family. That was her main priority and not being an actress.

Katherine actually lives in Utah with her husband Josh Kelley and their two daughters. They are not around all of the hustle and bustle. This made it easier to slow down and live their lives.

She went on to say, "The thing that was my best friend for a long time, [my career], suddenly turned on me and I didn’t expect it. I was taken by surprise and angry at it for betraying me. I had a moment where, I don’t know, I was thinking, ‘Maybe open a knitting store, get my money out of retirement accounts and live off that, live off the land.' I had my moment where it all seemed so complicated and all I wanted to do was simplify."

Katherin Heigl didn't give up on her career though and obviously she hopes that her fans didn't either. She is now working on a new show called "State of Affairs." She loves being back at work and it will be interesting to see how things go for her now that she has moved on. Heigl will be acting but also producing in this series.
