Deadline reports on Thursday (Nov 15) that the "The Nut Job", a co-production between Canada-based ToonBox Entertainment and Korea-based Redrover Co, Ltd, just announced the voice cast for their animated feature: Katherine Heigl, Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Stephen Lang, Sarah Gadon, and Jeff Dunham.
"The Nut Job"is ToonBox Entertainment’s first feature length film and will be based on Peter Lepeniotis' 2005 award-winning short film “Surly Squirrel”. The film revolves around Surly Squirrel, a mischievous squirrel, and his pal Buddy as they plan a simple nut store heist that turns into a convoluted bank heist.
Although it is ToonBox Entertainment’s first feature length film, the crew behind the film has lots of experience in the animation industry. Peter Lepeniotis has worked as an animator on films like as "Casper" and "Dinosaur". In addition, the film is written by veteran animation writer Lorne Cameron, who wrote "Brother Bear" and "Over The Hedge".
Thom Chapman, ToonBox vice president, remarked that, "“We couldn’t be more pleased with the cast that’s being assembled for our first feature. They have brought the film to a whole new level. Each voice is perfect for their respective roles, and they truly make the characters come alive.”
