Katherine Heigl left "Grey's Anatomy" without explaining to her fans why she left. Now she is finally speaking out a little about what went down with her. On Tuesday, People shared some of what she had to say about it all. She knew that she wanted her family to have a unique look and that she wanted to adopt. They started a family and that became her priority.
She was working on "Grey's" with a little one at home. Katherine explained, "I would come home angry and frustrated that I’d missed everything with my kid that day,I didn’t get to wake her up from her nap or do bath time or bedtime. I’d have to sneak into her room and kiss her when she was sleeping, hoping not to wake her up."
Katherine went on to explain more. She said, "I felt like my priorities were messed up. I was putting so much time and energy into just my work, but I was raised [to believe] that family comes first." She ended up with two little ones at home and needed to be there.
She put being a mom first. Heigl shared that her older daughter was a lot of help though. She said, "We brought her home and right away Naleigh was like a little mommy. She’d say, ‘No, no. You’re not holding her right.’ Or, ‘She needs to eat again.’ I’d be like, ‘Would you back off? Just give me a minute!’" It sounds like she had a bit more help than she wanted.
Fans would love to see her back on "Grey's Anatomy" but that doesn't seem to be in the works. She is still working as an actress too though she does not work on the set of "Grey's" every day like she did before.
