Katelyn Pawlowski was crowned Miss Columbus State University 2013, the Miss Georgia Pageant announced on Feb. 18.
The crowning qualifies Pawlowski as a contestant in the Miss Georgia Pageant. The winner of the state pageant will represent Georgia at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.
She describes herself in her Twitter profile as an exercise science major at Columbus State University, certified personal trainer, Phi Mu philanthropy chair, and a CSU dancer and student ambassador.
She was named the sorority’s Sister of the Month earlier in February for her philanthropic work.
"You are doing an amazing job at philanthropy chair," the sorority wrote on its Facebook page. "Our sisterhood is blessed to have you, your skills and talents in our chapter."
In her hometown of Midland, she was active in 4-H. Among her activities was involvement in the club’s recycling program.
She was also a local representative to the 4-H Day and Leadership Day at the state capitol
She is a graduate of Harris County High School.
