Kate Winslet, 37, married Virgin Galactic executive Ned Rocknroll, 34, in a secret ceremony in New York, according to her reps confirmation in the latest issue of Us Weekly for Jan. 14. The latest issue hit newsstands today with the news that Kate and Ned have been dating for more than a year and “were surrounded by a small group of friends and family” a source tells Us.
Winslet’s “Titanic” costars and one of her best friends, Leonardo DiCaprio walked her down the aisle. Kate’s two children, Mia, 12, and Joe, 9, from her previous marriages to Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes, were also in attendance. The wedding was so small, neither Kate nor Ned’s parents were invited.
Rocknroll, who legally changed his name from Ned Abel Smith in 2008, and Winslet have been inseparable since meeting so it came to no surprise to friends that the pair wed. A source says that Ned is completely attracted to Kate, especially her mind. “She’s mature, and he feels he can learn so much from her.”
Perhaps this is her “third time’s a charm.”
