Kate Winslet stepped out in Hampshire, England, on Monday, without her new husband anywhere in sight, but revealing her wedding ring – a simple gold band. This, apparently, was the first public display of Kate Winslet’s wedding and engagement ring combo, reports the Inquisitr on Tuesday, Feb. 5. The actress married Ned Rocknroll, quietly, back in December.
Only the very traditional wedding band seems to have captured attention, with its bright, yellow-gold shine. No further mention is made of an engagement ring or what it might have looked like. Usually, it’s engagement rings that garner all the attention, what with diamonds and all.
Kate Winslet was dressed for the blustery English weather, in a black coat and jeans with a snug floral scarf to keep her warm. The Oscar-winning actress seemed to be out and about on a grocery-shopping spree. Domesticity has obviously set in, along with winter, keeping the couple mostly out of sight since the wedding.
With luck, the happy couple might soon be spending some warmer days and nights, courtesy of Ned’s uncle, Richard Branson – known for his island paradise properties, among other things.
As for the wedding, that was small and cozy, also, with rumors that Leonardo DiCaprio was on hand to give the bride away. That would hardly be necessary, since this is Kate Winslet’s third marriage, but the gesture is traditional. So is a simple gold band. Kate Winslet may just be old-fashioned, -- and confident – enough to prefer things sweet and simple.
