Kate Upton has a sizzling bikini body that is the envy of millions of women, but she wasn't completely happy with the way her bikini body looked in the film, "The Other Woman," which co-stars Cameron Diaz.

Upton, 21, said she had been partying the week before she shot her beach scene, so she wasn't in the best shape. "I always try to live a healthy lifestyle, but that was my birthday week," Kate told E! "So that was the least healthy I've ever been."

Despite making the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue two years in a row, the 5-foot-10 blonde bombshell has been widely criticized for being too meaty to be a supermodel.

'It's Funny That People Call Me Fat'

Kate, who has been been called a "lardy, fat pig" and a tacky-looking bimbo, is shocked that her weight is such a hot topic, but has answered the criticism by proclaiming that she embraces her body just as it is.

“It’s kind of funny to think, 'The news is talking about whether I’m fat or not," she told Vogue. “It was hard at first. You sit there and you’re like, ‘Is something wrong with me?’ I can work out and I can stay healthy, but I can’t change some things. I really just live my life. I love my body."

Supermodel Carol Alt, a former SI cover girl and host of the Fox News talk show, "A Healthy You With Carol Alt," recently made headlines after saying she didn't understand all the fuss over Upton.

"What I don't understand with Kate is, what's all the hullaballoo?" Alt, author of Easy Sexy Raw, told the Huffington Post.

"I think Kate is a product of great media hype. I don’t think she’s in any way fat or overweight; she’s just more large-sized than fashion models are."

Kate's Workout Involves Intense Circuit-Training

While Upton may be larger than most supermodels, she diets and works out rigorously to stay in shape. Kate's workout regimen typically combines strength-training and circuit training (running, rowing and the elliptical trainer).

Upton uses light weights (no more than five pounds), focusing on high repetitions, and follows a low-carb, low-sugar, no-alcohol diet, said her trainer David Kirsch.

“Kate is the all-American epitome of the gorgeous curvy. She is the Marilyn Monroe of the 21st century," said Kirsh, creator of The Ultimate New York Body Plan workout DVD and the book, The Ultimate New York Body Plan.

"She is beautiful, she’s got curves, she’s got good boobs and she is every guy and girl’s dream.”

For her part, Upton is happy with her body and would never starve herself to fit someone else's aesthetic ideal. “I’m not going to starve just to be thin," she said. “I want to enjoy life and I can’t if I’m not eating and miserable.”
