The surprise was ruined by tabloid TMZ when they published the photo of Kate Upton heating up frigid Antartica while wearing bikini bottoms and a white jacket. TMZ scooped the news that Kate Upton would be the cover model for the annual swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated.
After the news broke, 'Sports Illustrated' confirmed that Upton was indeed the cover model via Twitter, along with a picture of the prestigious cover.
This marks the second year in a row that Kate Upton will be on the cover of the annual swimsuit edition. Kate Upton, 20, is a voluptuous model who became an instant celebrity when she landed the 2012 cover.
The swimsuit models will appear on 'Late Show with David Letterman' on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013. The models will present Letterman's Top Ten list.
