Kate Upton has come a long way in just two years. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model has gone topless in the past, looking to break through to the next level. It looks like she won't have to be doing that anymore.
Unless, of course, she wants to.
In a recent interview with British Vogue, Kate Upton made some comments which are getting lots of attention, like an excerpt, published on May 13, by Fashion & Style Magazine, where the model turned actress shared some of her secrets to success.
As it turns out, all it took was a meaty supporting role in a major Hollywood movie (The Other Woman) to launch Kate Upton into the more rarefied atmosphere of legitimate actress.
Nothing to it.
Upton was quoted as revealing her new strategy, saying "What I try to do, and it took me a little while to learn, is to only do things I really believe in so that it’s more of a collaboration. That way, I'm not pretending to be someone I'm not."
And, it doesn't hurt that Kate Upton, despite some false starts in being taken more seriously, has many more admirers than just male "readers" of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Women seem to like her just as much.
Asked how she managed to pull that off, Fans Share Magazine shares her thoughts. "I think it was kind of how everything was placed at once, in a weird way. I had Sports Illustrated and that next year I worked with Vogue and it was really just the placement of things. One year I had a lot of male followers, and the next, women followers and fans. I didn't have a say in it. That was just how it went."
Despite the mixed reaction to "The Other Woman" overall, Kate Upton has been getting high praise for her small, pivotal, dramatic and, surprisingly, comedic role, delivered flawlessly and showing lots of talented promise.
It seems Kate Upton has moved up into the big leagues. She can pick and choose her own projects, so going topless again may no longer be in the cards.
When asked if there was anything she wouldn't consider doing in the future, the new acting sensation replied, "I definitely have limits. But I never like to say never because I feel like I'm setting myself up. There’s a line between becoming, you know, a little cheap and cheesy versus being sexy. And I try to be very careful of that line.”
So, there's still hope.
