Kate Upton is collaborating with Sam Edelman. She's becoming the new face for the brand. Women's Wear Daily reported on Jan. 28 that the model is going to appear in the brand’s spring 2013 ads.
The campaign is in fact going to start early. Photos from the shoot will roll out Monday, and will run for six months. It turns out that Upton is Sam's new muse because she isn't "stick thin."
Edelman calls the model "beautiful and "All-American." He didn't want a high fashion model for his photo shoot. He wanted to convey that All-American girl next door look.
Sam Edelman is not just inspired by Kate. He's also inspired by the culture of New York City. He wants to represent his heritage in the urban parts of the city.
The photo shoot is taken by famed photographer David Lipman. In one of the photos, Kate poses seductively on a windowsill. She wears a sexy black lace dress and cutout sandals.
In another shot, Upton sits on the floor in a black bodysuit. A pile of shoes surrounds her. Her blonde hair is messy and swept to one side.
Sam Edelman felt that it was time to hire Kate Upton. He said that he wanted an "indie" fashion model. She's not quite so indie, though. Her impresive resume includes photo shoots with Vogue UK, Vogue Italia and Elle France. This fashion campaign will probably land her more high fashion contracts this year.
