A Kate Upton armpit Photoshop fail is causing controversy today. The drama is taking on epic proportions despite the fact that it is a well known practice for just about every glamorous photograph you see in the pages of fashion magazines to be heavily edited to look better. Images of models and celebrities are routinely edited to erase lines, wrinkles, blemishes, bruises, cellulite, scars and other imperfections. Most of the time, the results are amazing. Once in a while, they spell disaster.
According to a May 30, 2014 report by The Stir, there could be several different explanations for the Kate Upton armpit Photoshop fail. In a tongue-in-cheek look at the photo disaster, writer Adriana Velez speculated, "A palm tree ate her armpit. This is highly unlikely. But I thought I'd write it down anyway because I like how those words look together." At least someone has a sense of humor about the whole situation.
In the case of Kate Upton's armpit Photoshop fail, the popular Adobe program seems to have been used with a heavy hand. The lovely swimsuit model appears to have one of her armpits wiped right out of the picture, leaving her with an awkward divot where the small bit of flesh should be. In fact, a palm tree can clearly be seen in the distance through a place where we should see a tiny bit of Kate Upton instead.
As you can see from the photo on the left, this is what Kate Upton's armpit typically looks like: normal. However, if you check out this photo from Harper's Bazaar, you'll see a very different image. The Harper's Bazaar feature wasn't all bad. Upton's trainer shared some tips on how the stunner keeps her body looking swimsuit ready. Check out the video for more details.
Oddly enough, it took more than a week for the Internet firestorm regarding the Kate Upton armpit Photoshop fail to really ignite. What do you think? Is it just an awkward angle, or has Upton's armpit been banished to oblivion in an editing snafu?
