Kate Upton appears on Letterman to promote swimsuit issue. On Tuesday night Kate Upton appeared on the "Late Show With David Letterman" in New York.
Letterman was anticipated to reveal Upton as the cover model on Monday night's show, but the news leaked late Friday, a development which he has blamed on "Chinese hackers" in Tuesday's monologue. Upton joked about the leak during her appearance, "I found out from Twitter — and it wasn't me," while saying she was glad she found out early so she didn't have to wonder. Letterman commented, "Why would you go to Antarctica? I wouldn't go there."
During the interview Letterman brought out his copy of the Swimsuit Issue, as he said, "I have a bone to pick with you. OK, right here on the top what does it say? Swimsuit Issue." Upton replied, "Right." Than Letterman said, "You open it up, look 'er there," as he opened the magazine to a picture of Upton wearing a long scarf and nothing else as the audience laughed. And Letterman commented, "No swimsuit. NO swimsuit!" Upton replied,"But it's more appropriate because it's a scarf." Letterman retorted, "It doesn't say Scarf Issue."
