Mercedes-Benz had two different ads during the Super Bowl, both featured two different models: the 2013 CLA small sedan and Kate Upton.
The first commercial begins with Upton (in a slow moving sequence) watching over a team of football players as they wash the CLA.
The second version features Willem Dafoe as the Devil, urging a prospective CLA owner to sell his soul. In exchange for the soul, the CLA is offered but also Kate Upton, a performance with R&B singer Usher proving absolute and undeniable sex appeal for the car owner and a full circuit ride in a Mercedes F1 car. It is as if the pages of Maxim became real life for this soul-sucked Mercedes owner.
At the ad's end, the owner goes back on the deal, seeing the price at an affordable $29,900 for the CLA and realizes he can afford his own car while keeping his soul.
The commercial is backed by the Rolling Stones’ hit "Sympathy for the Devil."
