Kate Spade Saturday, a new lower-priced brand from the quirky Kate Spade New York is being launched a month early. The announcement was made on their Twitter timeline on Feb. 14.
Although the brand was scheduled to be launched in March, the preppy stylish line will now debut on Fab, the e-commerce site for everyday fashion on Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. EST. Fans can shop via a pop-up shop.
Racked.com quotes brand director Kyle Andrew, who said that although Kate Spade New York and Kate Spade Saturday have the same core values, “This (Kate Spade Saturday) is for everyday wear. It's for the girl who can't change into a cocktail outfit to go out at night. She needs to wear this, put a pair of heels on, and go."
Described as a laid-back sister of the top-tiered brand, Kate Spade Saturday will be priced at 50 percent below the Kate Spade New York on an average, with apparel ranging from $50 to $90, eye wear at $55, fashion accessories at $40, handbags at $130, jewelry at $30, and shoes at $85.
Theresa Canning Zast, Creative Director of Kate Spade Saturday describes the style on the website, “There’s something so optimistic about Saturday—just the word puts a smile on your face. And we wanted to capture that spirit seven days a week with designs that are bold and colorful.”
