BRITAIN – The wedding of supermodel Kate Moss, 37, to rocker Jamie Hince, 42, guitarist for the band the Kills, at a magnificent twelfth-century village church located along an English countryside on July 1, 2011, made for the kind of wedding photos only seen in fairy tales.
Moss described her vision of the wedding in September’s issue of Vogue magazine. “I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus,” Moss said.
The details of the supermodel’s wedding she said was inspired by the “Great Gatsby” 1920’s era of style and fashion. Her wedding dress made by the famous British designer John Galliano, was made of chiffon, a dress that Moss said was couture and oh so comfortable. Moss said Galliano brought her "bags full of bits, and pulled tulle and sequins and veils and flowers out. And then we just kind of pinned things together, like the old days, you know?"
The gown was described in Vogue to be, “A gown that was "spangled with tiny golden paillettes" and had a skirt that was "symbolically licked with the beaded plumes of a mythical phoenix".
Other details about Moss’ wedding that added to the fairytale magic was the names of the girls in her wedding party such as; Ella de la Falaise, Mercy Magic Cutler, Bliss Ferguson, Lila Grace Moss, Etta Cutler Lindegren, Blythe Ferguson, Alfie Watters, Elfie Ferguson, Iris Law, and Poppy Spaceman.”
Another whimsical idea Moss created was teepees for the guest’s children to play in during the wedding. Then again last but not least, having Sir Paul McCartney and other well known guests certainly did add to the ambiance of the wedding nuptials.
Famous fashion photographer Mario Testino who is a close friend of Moss captured the some of the most romantic wedding photos ever.
