Kate Middleton still hiding bump as Duchess makes first 2013 appearance (Video)

Kate Middleton stepped out for her first official engagement of 2013 today (Friday), but her royal baby bump still hasn't made its debut. Examiner.com has obtained photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attending a private viewing of her first official portrait. The unveiling was followed by a breakfast reception at the National Portrait Gallery in London. Kate Middleton's family, along with artist Paul Emsley, also joined the royal couple for the first look at the portrait.

All eyes weren't on the portrait of the Duchess though. Cameras also focused in on Kate's mid-section, which hardly revealed even the slightest baby bump -- despite her being at least 12 weeks along. The fashion blog dedicated to Kate's style choices, HRH Duchess Kate, reveals she was wearing a Whistles Sofie Rae Dress. The Duchess paired the long-sleeved burgundy dress with a black belt and not even a shadow of a bump.

While the royal couple reportedly said they are "thrilled" by the "beautiful" portrait, it has been criticized for not accurately portraying the usually beaming Duchess.
