Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has acquired a bit of sweet tooth since her pregnancy was announced. Recently she dropped into a Starbucks near Kensington Palace, with Lupo and a security guard in tow and a gift card in hand, reports Us Weekly on Friday, Jan. 18.
Duchess Catherine – who “looked beautiful,” according to an onlooker – ordered a grande decaf skinny latte and a cookie. She paid with her own Starbucks card and swiped it across the machine herself. No word on whether Lupo is well enough trained to leave outside on a down-and-stay command while the duchess is inside, but the security guard took temporary charge of the dog.
“The pooch is ‘so cute and well-behaved,’” the same onlooker reports. Anyway, afterwards the duchess reclaimed the leash – it’s probably a very busy corner – and the three of them continued walking. Private outings, with just the duchess and the dog, are simply not a part of Kate Middleton’s current life, but it’s always good to have a Starbucks nearby.
Kate Middleton was “wrapped up warmly,” the bystander went on, with no bump showing. "Her hair was done nicely and she had a scarf, lovely long coat and boots on."
Recent reports have said the doctors are urging Duchess Catherine to increase her daily calorie count, so cookies are okay for a woman who has always kept her weight carefully in check. Anything for the sake of the baby. Since she is also watching her exercise levels, a walk with a lively dog is just the thing.
