Kate Middleton gets another round of bashing as a BBC Radio 4 host claims Kate doesn’t have an opinion of her own. She compares the future queen’s existence to the women during the days of Jane Austen, when they were known only by their husband’s identity, according to Mail Online Sunday, March 10, 2013.
While bashing Kate, she holds Cheryl Cole in high esteem for “still saying what she thinks.” Being a radio host, you would think that Sandi Toksvig would know that Kate’s words are often twisted or the media puts words in her mouth.
The latest rumor about Kate having a slip of the tongue by just stopping short after referring to her baby as a daughter is a good example of twisting her words. New footage shows this never happened. So it could be that Kate would rather let her actions do the talking. If you look at what the future queen has done, one could say she's very opinionated.
Kate’s actions speak louder than her words. She’s not a figure head spouting declarations about the poor, sick or the lonely. Kate rolls up her sleeves and gets right in there to help. The mother-to-be has shown this time and time again with the charities she became patron of.
Kate’s worked with the addicted young men and woman and put up tents with the girl scouts. When it was time for Kate to pick the charities she would support, she went where not many thought she would. Kate wanted to help people with addictions, as described by The Fix last year.
She could have picked a charity that supported gardening or one that devotes itself to recycling, but instead she went with the folks that were often the forgotten bunch when it came to raising money to support them, the people struggling with addiction. If this doesn’t point to having her own opinion, than nothing does.
Kate’s frugal, though she certainly doesn’t have to be, but she buys clothes from second hand shops, as described by the Huffington Post last year. She also shops mainstream apparel when other’s who have come before her in the royal family have their clothes made especially for them. That says she has an opinion about spending money extravagantly when the rest of the country is hurting.
Kate’s opinion on being waited on hand and foot came through loud and clear when she decided against a household full of servants. Then there’s her opinion on being a hands-on mother. She doesn’t want the royal tradition of a team of nanny’s for her child.
Kate has her own opinion and it is heard loud and clear by the people who truly listen. Just because she doesn’t come out and offer up crusading words, doesn’t mean she’s without an opinion. It’s the people who take up the space in the media pointing fingers at all the wrongs in the world then go back home hoping others will take care of it who should be called out on the carpet, not Kate.
Looking at Kate in this light, she’s one of the most opinionated royal family members to come out of the past few decades. Just because she not saying the words, watch and you'll see that she means them. That's how Kate expresses her opinion!
