Kate Middleton and Prince William will both be making some changes in their royal duty schedules after the new baby arrives next summer. No official announcement has yet been made, reveals the Telegraph on Thursday, Dec. 27, but royal sources are speculating, based on past history.
No foreign tours are on the duchess’ diary at the moment, and odds are none will be scheduled in 2013. While visits to museums and hospitals in the London area should be easily possible, no one thinks Kate Middleton and Prince William will be willing to leave their baby for weeks at a time, while they jet off to all parts of the globe – as the Queen’s parents did when she was a child.
Prince William, himself, went on a jaunt to Australia when he was only a few months old. He was personally invited by the Australian prime minister. Then the Prince and Princess of Wales tucked Wills and his nanny away in a cottage on a sheep farm in New South Wales – which is located in Australia – while they toured and partied. They visited him when there was a break in the action. This does not sound like an arrangement the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would like. Kate Middleton and Prince William will want to be closer.
One thing is sure. Past history will not mean nearly as much to Kate Middleton and Prince William as the best interests of their baby. Expect to see them sticking close to home for most of the coming year.
