Kate Middleton just can’t get a break when it comes to the media lately and this is something weighing heavily on Prince William's mind today. First it was pictures of Kate's private moments on the beach during the couple's recent vacation that got published. Then she has the press continuing to pull her apart with claims that she’s got the “perfect plastic smile” along with the other recent disparaging words aimed at the U.K.’s princess. According to Entertainment Wise on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, William is determined to protect Kate after the Mustique breach of privacy.
It seems that Kate is the focus of the media's scope today and this is not only hurtful to her, but also to her husband, Prince William. Kate’s feelings aren’t spared with the latest reports saying she is just a “jointed doll” with the media feeding into some of the notable names that have taken part in bashing her in the press. This has taken a toll on William, who is fully aware that Kate’s in this position with the media just because she is married to him.
While Kate’s feelings are surely hurt, William must feel even worse because he is unable to put a stop to such horrendous name calling of his wife. As Perez Hilton reports, the media has "breeding" Kate's only purpose, this is not something a first-time pregnant mother wants to hear. The recent incident when Booker prize winner Hilary Mantel dubbed the Duchess of Cambridge "plastic" with "no personality" is just one example of what Kate is up against daily.
This type of scenario is one of the reasons that Prince Harry said he’d have a hard time finding a wife because once you marry into royalty, your life is no longer your own. Just like Kate, a wife of Harry's would be a sitting duck for media bashing and her privacy would be invaded.
“William feels completely helpless and emasculated because he can't do anything to protect his family,” claims a source close to the Prince. William has felt like this for a while but their recent vacation pictures seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back. It isn’t fair to William who is just trying to be a husband and preparing to be a first-time father with the woman he loves and married. When the new baby arrives, this will give William double the family members he will do his best to protect from the media blitz that seems to be going on with his wife Kate today.
This should be the happiest time in this couple’s life, waiting for the arrival of their first child, but it’s marred by Kate being chastised publicly in the media today. While Kate’s feelings are no doubt raw right about now, William seems to be the forgotten victim. He might feel even worse than Kate because he is helpless to stop such awful things about his wife from appearing in the media.
