Kate Middleton’s indigo blue Volkswagen was traded in towards a new car back in 2009, this her car from her college years when she first started dating Prince William. This second hand Kate Middleton car is now expected to fetch twice the amount she paid for it brand new on eBay, according to the Daily Mail.
The owner of Kate’s second hand car, Sonny Brazil, got the car from his father’s car lot, who took the car on a trade in from the Middleton’s. He has barely put 2,500 miles on the auto since owning it and now is ready to cash in on the used car because of its famous prior owner.
Kate’s Volkswagen Golf has a bit of pop culture history that goes along with it, this is the car that was ticketed for a parking violation outside Kate’s Chelsea flat in 2007. She made the news for arguing with the parking attendant as he issued her that ticket.
It is rumored that when Kate and Prince William broke up for a while, back during their dating days, that Kate wanted to get rid of the car and anything that reminded her of William at the time. That included the car they spent much time in together. Little did she know then, she would have the wedding of the century in a few years with the same prince she wanted to forget about.
Kate racked up 60,000 miles in that car and if it could talk, what a story it could tell for sure! The eBay auction on Kate’s old car will start tomorrow, July 15th. It will go to the highest bidder!
