Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge is well known for her wardrobe recycling and bargain basics, however the outfit chosen for her official portrait is shocking! According to HollywoodLife on January 16, 2013, Middleton wore a blouse from French Connection that cost only $49.99.
Not only did she wear a modestly priced blouse(for British royalty), but the top is still available on the French Connection's website! Doubtful it will be for long, but the Sub Silky Tie Top comes in a variety of colors and is sold out on the U.S.'s French Connection website!
Style icon of this generation, Kate Middleton is often reported shopping at stores like J.Crew and Zara which carry moderately priced clothing. Another magnificent quality Middleton has is she often wears her outfits more than once, rather than wasting a beautiful wardrobe.
The portrait was created by British artist Paul Emsley in 2012 and unveiled earlier in the month. The public's reaction has not been receptive as the portrait appears to age the Duchess and has a dark hue.
