Kate Middleton’s nose is hot in New York. The craze to bear Duchess Catherine’s “perky schnoz” has moved from London to New York City in the past few months, according to a Thursday, March 14 report from the Huffington Post. It has become the hottest spring accessory.
This is serious business, especially for plastic surgeons. Women are actually flocking to surgical offices to have their own noses, not just improved over what nature gave them, but to make themselves look more like Kate Middleton. The perfectly shaped, aristocratic nose belonging to the Duchess of Cambridge has become a world standard. Reports Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group, one of Britain's biggest cosmetic surgery providers, Middleton's nose was the "most-requested celebrity facial feature in 2012."
Is this just a crazy fad? Do the patients realize what they are doing? “A couple of months ago, these women started coming into my office and asking for Kate Middleton’s nose,” said Dr. Stephen T. Greenberg, who practices plastic surgery in Manhattan. “It has become so popular that we have made a file of a dozen Kate Middleton pictures to show patients when they come in for their consultation.”
“Every time she smiled it's like, that's what I want -- I want my nose to be like that,” said one woman in an interview. She paid more than $12,000 to have her nose Kate-Middletonized. A British psychologist has speculated there may be a “hard-wired” evolutionary preference for just that particular shape. She may be on to something.
