It looks like Kate Middleton fell off the humble wagon today, as headlines put her about town in a "fur coat" and carrying a purse that cost as much as it does to feed a family of four for a month. Just when it looked like the luxury of being royalty wouldn't faze Kate, the headlines put her in a "fur coat."
Prince William's been adamant in the past about keeping a low profile on expenditures out of respect for the country's tough economical times. His new wife appeared to go along with that strategy from the day she entered the royal family. This doesn't seem like the Kate who wears chic and fashionable clothes that are also affordable. What changed today?
Nothing really, the purse is not a new purchase, she used this for her trip abroad when she traveled to the US and Canada. Since it's not new, you can say she's recycling her accessories and there's no overboard extravagance there. As far as the suede and fur-lined jacket, it's really cold in the UK now, so Kate probably grabbed the warmest coat she owns before leaving the house, or the palace.
The coat is far from a "fur coat" it does sport a little fur around the collar, but it could be faux fur, there's no way to tell from the picture. The coat is very casual and nothing that would get tagged under "luxury." Kate really didn't fall off the humble wagon after all. It looks like all she's guilty of today is a bit of recycling and trying to keep warm!
Connecticut fans got to see another iconic Princess's collection in an exhibition around the holidays. "Diana - A Celebration" came to Foxwoods Casino and Resort in Connecticut. The show spotlighted the late Diana's royal wedding gown; along with many of her other classic dresses. The exhibition ended last month.
