Prince William is reportedly working to purchase a vacation home for Kate Middleton for her 31st birthday. Sources claim the Duke of Cambridge will give Kate a list of home choices on her birthday, January 9. "Wills has narrowed down the list to a few incredible places in Hampshire and Buckinghamshire around the ($2.3) million mark. They don't want to be too close to London," the source tells Look magazine today (Thursday).
This is at least the second source in the last month claiming Prince William is looking to gift his wife a country estate. As Examiner.com previously reported another source claimed he was considering purchasing a home in Scotland which would be a sort of push present for the Duchess and their baby. That source revealed the Duke was interested in something of a "cozy cottage" and not an extravagant estate.
Later this year, the royal couple will make the move from Wales to London. An apartment in Kensington Palace will be their main base when they are in London. Prince William also has a cottage in Norfolk, which Queen Elizabeth gave him for his 30th birthday.
Kate Middleton turns 31 on January 9, 2013.
