Kate Middleton pregnant and back to her royal duties

Kate Middleton is reportedly preparing to return to her royal duties. The Duchess of Cambridge has only made a handful of appearances since announcing her pregnancy nearly two months ago. But a Jan., 30 report claims the pregnant duchess is about to return to work publicly and is already working behind-the-scenes. "The duchess is having meetings about future engagements," the Daily Express quotes a senior palace aide as saying.

At least one insider claims the Duchess of Cambridge is back in London for more than just maternity shopping. She's reportedly been in talks daily with charities and her advisers. While the 31-year-old wife of Prince William hasn't made any public appearance since the Jan., 11 unveiling of her portrait, she'll reportedly return to her public duties at the end of February. (By that time she may very well be sporting a more obvious baby bump.) Palace officials say Kate's return to work comes as she continues to feel better following a bout of acute morning sickness which hospitalized her.

While Kate Middleton's diary remains clear -- at least publicly -- sources say she plans to work through most of the rest of her pregnancy. Among the royal duties she'll fulfill is attending celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Queen's Coronation which is in early June.

The royal baby is due in July.
