Kate Middleton has added some glamor to the lives of servicemen in Australia by appearing in the cockpit of a Royal Air Force jet fighter in an attractive blue poppy spring dress. Prince George was by her side for this appearance. The royal couple enjoyed a pleasant spring day visit to the Royal Australian Air Force Base Amberley near Brisbane on Saturday reported E! Online on April 19, 2014.
After being introduced the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge found their way inside the F-18 Super Hornet jet. Middleton looked at ease as she sat down in the cockpit. She appeared really interested in checking out the controls while her husband relaxed in the back seat. Australian Commanding Officer Stephan Chappell commented that Middleton was fascinated by the control panel in the Super Hornet.
The Duke and Duchess also visited the base's memorial garden where they took some time to plant a Plunkett Mallee tree, which is a native tree of Queensland. Than they attended a reception for personnel, families and veterans. At this affair Middleton was given a bouquet by 9-year-old Ashleigh Kearnan, whose father, Lieutenant Charles Kearnan, is a ground-defense officer who has been on three tours in Afghanistan.
Prince George apparently was resting with a nanny during the visit by the royal couple to the Royal Air Force jet fighter. Middleton appeared charming and poised as she took a seat in the jet in her blue and white poppy dress reports The Huffington Post. This event clearly was inspirational for the Australian servicemen who needed some time to try to relax in between their dangerous tours of duty in war torn Afghanistan.
