Kate Middleton and Prince William are both 30, but Duchess Catherine has a birthday coming up on Jan. 9, and her royal husband wants to present her with an estate of their own. He has been looking at property, reports Entertainmentwise on Thursday, Jan. 3, and he is ready to offer her a package of details on the likeliest choices, as a birthday pre-gift. That means the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will pick out the actual gift – a country estate – together.
Kate Middleton and Prince William already have an apartment in Kensington Palace being renovated for their use, but that can’t take the place of their own home in the country. They have enjoyed living away from London’s bustle, in the farmhouse in Wales, and so Prince William would like to replace that with something larger – and closer to the action – but not too close. If he selects a few suitable estates, then she can make the final choice. Something posh, but not too posh.
“They've talked about getting a place where they can get away from it all," a source reported. “And now Wills has narrowed down the list to a few incredible places in Hampshire and Buckinghamshire around the £5 million mark.” That would be in the $7.5 million neighborhood. Nice neighborhood.
With a baby on the way, the royal couple will need more space. And if rumors are true that Prince William is resigning his military commission soon, then Wales will no longer be an option.
Except for this very large gift, the birthday celebration will be low key. At this point in her pregnancy, Kate needs to relax. But Kate Middleton and Prince William are ready, now, to settle down and raise a family, so this new estate will be a key element.
