Kate Middleton and Prince William make plans for major life changes?

Kate Middleton and Prince William are moving away from the royal spotlight as much as they possibly can with their newest plans. While William’s gig with the military is up in 2013, he plans to stay on and live with Kate as a military family. They’ve decided to raise a family in the military life for as long as they can, according to the website Hello.

The newlyweds aren’t getting any pressure from the Queen or the rest of the family to leave the military life behind once his term has ended. William loves flying and the work that he’s doing right now. Kate and William have adjusted to the military life and this is something they want to continue.

When William’s term is up in 2013, he will have been in the military six years. His choice to stay in and serve is different from the path past military members of the royal family have taken traditionally. Once their service term was done, they left to attend to the duties of being a royal. This is the case with William's grandfather, Prince Phillip. He gave up a promising military career to attend to his duties as a royal.  This is not for Kate and William apparently. William wants to become a career serviceman.

When you think of kids raised in the military the term "military brat" comes to mind. While hopefully this won't be the case with Kate and William's children, this does seem to be a phenomenon that happens when moving around so much in the military. If the couple plans on staying in the military as "nomal people" do, then they too stand the chance of moving around to many different locations.

While William is a Prince and officials might consider making  concessions  for him when it comes to where he'll get stationed, William would most likely turn down any preferential treatment. He's very adamant on getting the same treatment as the rest of the people that  he serves with.

Connecticut fans of the royal family recently had William’s mother’s iconic possessions appear in an exhibit in the state. Foxwoods Casino and Resort offered “Diana – A Celebration” exhibition around the holidays. This Connecticut show displayed many of the fashions worn by Diana including her wedding gown. The exhibit ended last month.
