Actress Kate Hudson is clearing the smoke around the pregnancy rumors, spawned by her hot relationship with Yankee's payer Alex Rodriguez and a "swollen stomach".
In an interview with Britain's OK! magazine, the 30-year-old Fool's Gold star said she felt bad after pulling the plug on puffing and was forced to eat instead of smoke.
"Quitting meant eating more," the magazine quoted the star as saying. "Then, there were rumours in the press saying I was pregnant. Later somebody said, 'When did you quit smoking?' And I was like, 'Right about the time everybody thought I was pregnant.'"
All's well that ends well though. The star has since lost 20 pounds to play a terminally ill woman and helped kick the habit and the weight by cutting back on the booze.
Sounds like Kate's a much healthier Hudson.
