Kate Gosselin revolt: Kids undergo party tension, 'Kate Plus Eight: Sextuplets'

Something of a Kate Gosselin revolt resulted this week after two of Kate’s kids wanted a big party. Their plans went south quickly, despite their reality TV mother’s attempted intervention to lighten the atmosphere. The tension only escalated when Mady Gosselin had a bit of an outburst on the air, saying that she doesn’t feel she’s a good role model for her younger siblings. Hollywood Life shares all the dirt that went down among the minor celebrity family in the “Kate Plus Eight: Sextuplets Turn 10” special this Thursday, June 19, 2014.

Kate Gosselin has somehow managed to stay in the public spotlight, and after earning a new TV slot in a special episode titled “Kate Plus Eight: Sextuplets Turn 10,” the blonde mom is learning (once again) that it’s not always easy being a parent. The TLC reality star suffered what can only be called a teenage revolt from her kids, particularly her oldest daughters, who underwent a what appeared to be a little meltdown. It seems that both Cara and Mady were interested in throwing a big party, but nothing their mother could do was making it right. Picking the right theme for the festivities seemed to be a central conflict.

“This is stupid. This isn’t fun. I don’t want to be a part of it,” the Gosselin girls said.

The real stress among Kate Gosselin’s kids was revealed in the special after they had a brief “interview” with one of the TV producers on the air. It seems the older siblings of the sextuplets were having a very bad day. No matter what their mother said to try and support her daughter, it wasn’t helping.

“No. They better not. I mean, I’m an awful role model ugh,” she screamed. There sat Gosselin, with her mouth open and in disbelief, asking her why she is “so hard on your.” The teen said, “Have you seen me? I sit in my bed all day. I’m so bad I hope they don’t.”

The Kate Gosselin revolt taking place in front of the cameras or no, the celebrity mom tried to cheer her child up, adds News Oxy. She said that her daughter was a “wonderful” sister to her younger siblings, trying to dispel the tension. Although the sextuplets could be a handful and didn’t always express it, they did love their sister and simply wanted her “approval,” she added. She says she knows she undergoes stress and can be tough on them, but has a good heart.

“She’s really hard on herself, she’s a wonderful big sister,” the 39-year-old mother interjected. “When you’re grouchy and mean and say mean things to them I can’t support that, but they look up to them. They just want their approval.”

It seems there’s been some struggles in the Gosselin family behind the scenes, however, as Mady only replied: “They have such bad hair, I can’t … They dress themselves and they shouldn’t!”

After a considerable hiatus, the family is coming back to the TLC channel in part of a two part special titled “Kate Plus Eight: Sextuplets Turn 10,” which will be airing this Thursday at 10 pm, local time. For those who may have missed the special and still want to see all the shenanigans with this big family, the show is running at various airtimes over this weekend.

“Jon and Kate Plus Eight” ran for a full seven season series until the couple’s notorious breakup, eventually leading to the end of the show in 2011. What’s your response to this cited “revolt” by the Gosselin kids? Is it just plain family drama, or have the children been subjected to being in front of the camera enough already?
