Kate Gosselin is under fire for using the R-word in an email that was dug up by by author Robert Hoffman. According to NewsOXY, Hoffman wrote about Kate's use of the derogatory word in his new Kate Gosselin tell-all. In the book, Hoffman outs Kate on a number of things, some believable and some not. The R-word controversy has erupted now, eight years after the mother of eight wrote the word in the email.
"On December 31, 2006, Jon forwarded Kate an email that he had received the day before from the coordinator of something called the ‘MOST’ forum. (MOST stands for Mothers Of Super Twins.) The forum coordinator, 'Patti T,' asked Jon if he would post something to introduce himself and his family on the forum. It is not clear why Patti T’s email annoyed Kate, but her curt response to Jon about it is offensive. Kate said, 'These people are retarded!'"
The Kate Gosselin R-word controversy kicked up online, with tons of people commenting on Kate's offensive words. The Special Olympics even responded to the story, saying that using the word "retard" or "retarded" is never acceptable in their eyes.
According to Perez Hilton, Kate might have learned better over the years. Bringing something up from years ago doesn't seem to be very productive. People seem to feel as though a private email between Kate and her husband at the time (Jon Gosselin) isn't anyone's business and should not be used to judge Kate or think anything less of her.
Although Kate did use the R-word, do you think it's anyone's business? Do you think Kate should issue an apology for saying that word? What do you think of Robert Hoffman's tell all book?
