Kate Gosselin on 'Today': Jon took $230,000 from our bank account (Video)

In a Monday morning interview on the Today show, Kate Gosselin stated that her estranged husband Jon took a hefty sum from their joint bank account.

"He took $230,000 of the $231,000 we had," Kate told Meredith Vieira. "I have a stack of bills. The last thing I wanted was to do this show and end up not being able to pay our bills."

Last week, TLC announced they would be changing their popular reality series Jon and Kate Plus 8.  In a press release, the network stated that Jon would no longer be a regular on the show, and the series' name would become Kate Plus 8.

This didn't sit well with Jon, who late last week appeared on Larry King Live and stated that he no longer wanted his children to participate on the show.  Claiming the show wasn't healthy for his kids, Jon said he wanted the reality spectacle to end and for he and Kate to work on their marriage.

On Monday's Today show, however, Kate was less concerned about Jon, and much more focused on her kids.

"When you've left your children and their mother without the funds to lay for the roof over their head, it's not acceptable," said Kate. "I need that money to provide for them. We were in the position after our sextuplets were born that we could not pay our bills. We did the show to provide a better life for them. Never did I think I'd be back in the same position."

Despite the stress, Kate says that she's doing her best to stay composed.

"I'm hanging in there. It's hard. Every morning I don't know what I'm going to wake up to," she stated. "He has gone way far off the trail."

Both Jon and Kate have been on a media blitz as of late, also appearing on ABC's Primetime, and The View.
