Is Kate Gosselin's "Dancing with the Stars" run giving her health problems? Worse. What's up with her kids?
On Monday night's season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars", the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star seemed out of her element as she grappled her way through a Viennese Waltz with pro dance partner. Tony Dovolani.
"When my kids first found out I was going to be on the show they said 'Mommy you can't dance'," the 34-year-old mom of eight said. Adding, "Oh, without a doubt I'm going to prove them wrong. I'm going to prove everyone wrong."
But when film footage began to role of Kate Gosselin's DWTS practice rehearsals in her basement, the TV mom played damsel in distress. Each scene, showed Kate coping and struggling to make ends meet with her feet.
"There are numerous times a day where I'll look around and think, 'What have I done?'" Gosselin revealed in later interviews run as narrative behind rehearsal tapes. Even partner Dovolnai says Kate's missing a huge part of the dance factor needed to make it work. "I think Kate really wants to do this," he said. "But she needs to communicate enjoyment for this performance to work."
Kate said that her "insecurities are eating her alive" and even told USA Today the anxiety she's enduring is interrupting her sleep and leaving her awake with "cold sweat" at night. And while other celebrities on the show can leave their jobs or take temporary leaves, Kate's still a mom with eight kids at home - A job that doesn't permit for an easy out. So will the stress keep her from her best?
After Monday's first run, Gosselin received a tough line of critique from the judging panel, some took up for Kate's disadvantages, not being an athlete or having dancing experience, and some said her nervousness interrupted her performance. What did Kate think?

Kate is so used to pushing Jon around, you could tell she wanted to shut the judges up. Kate was like pushing around a shopping cart the one judge stated. She has NO personality and I feel very badly for the kids living with her.

Kate Gosselin would be smart to withdraw ... she can't and bringing up the kids everytime she spoke was so out of line. What a phony! Did you catch the evil eyes she tried to lay on the judges when they criticized her? Her partner tried to keep it simple and she can't even understand that. Guess they told her in plain English ... SHE HAS NO TALENT!!! Image she will be back trying to play Mom again with the kids on tv. I really feel people are through w/her .... fake, lying b....

She didn't mean her kids per say, she meant her "fake tah tah's can rest ez tonight"...
Come on all you working Moms....Kate has been beaten down enough...remember how you always wanted to help the bullied kid in school or perhaps it was you being bullied...she is sincerely stressed but she still has to support those precious children alone...All you Moms, let's lift her up and vote for her on DWTS.
Too hard John. His kids will always love him but if they were old enough they would probably die of embarrassment. Who wouldn't want to try and do good on Dancing with the Stars.
Someone has to earn money to support these children, why not something fun.Cut Kate a break. We only seee what they edited. I would be nuts trying to raise that many children that close in age. I probably would be crabby too.
Sarah. Being on a reality TV show is not work. "Real" working moms cannot support someone who only thinkgs about themselves
If Kate was forbidden to mention her kids for an hour, she'd have nothing to say.
Even on DWTS she has to talk about her little tickets to fame!
By the way, Kate - I agree with the judge that you're like a shopping cart when you dance - a shopping cart with the one bad wheel!
Maybe NOW you can see that you're OUT OF YOUR ELEMENT and TRY to be a mother to your kids, AT LONG LAST!!!!
I must admit, though, I can't wait to see her Cha Cha next week! It's going to be a LARK! ha ha ha hahaaaa!!!
