Kate Gosselin filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, who she says stole her hard hard drive and hacked into her phone to obtain information for a book -- a tell-all. On Aug. 26, MSN News reported that Kate filed the lawsuit in Philadelphia this morning alleging that Jon's pal, Robert Hoffman, obtained information illegally.
It is unknown how much money Kate is suing for but if she can prove that the information in the book was stolen, she may be able to get Jon and the book's author on defamation as well as other things. She could be entitled to money from the sales of the book (which was pulled from Amazon two days after it was released back in 2012) or other monetary payment.
The Kate Gosselin lawsuit comes as a bit of a surprise because of how much time has gone by since it was released. However, it seems as though Kate was getting her ducks in order before slapping Jon with this suit -- and if he loses, this could be major for him. Again, it's unknown what damages Kate is seeking, but it sounds like she certainly has a case.
Kate-haters have been out in full force since news of this lawsuit broke. Many people think that Kate is just looking for an easy way to make some money -- and to get her name back into the media... Do you think that's the case?
Will Kate Gosselin win this lawsuit?
