Kate Gosselin is the subject of new reports that say the often mocked small screen personality has been bullied throughout her life, starting in middle school. According to Us magazine on Feb. 9, the mother of eight who has starred in a number of television reality shows, including "Kate Plus 8" and "Dancing with the Stars," says she has had a tough time dealing with this very prevalent issue.
Us shared a number of quotes from a Bullyville post regarding the small screen regular, who said, "I've been bullied. A lot."
Kate claims the result of this bullying in the form of "cruel comments and mean displays" have "left deep scars" that stick with her in the present day even though a lot of that happened while she was a just a kid.
She admits that this kind of abuse has made her feel "insecure, alone, ugly, powerless, and hopeless at times. Being bullied was the most difficult part of my early teen years."
And then, as an adult and especially after the time in which Gosselin became a household name, the bullying continued. Jon Gosselin's former wife said that although she tends to be positive, "the fact that people...flocked to the Internet to make ugly, hurtful, and untrue comments about myself and my family truly shocked me."
These comments stung in such a way that Kate Gosselin had to speak up to tell her story. After all, there's no better way than to beat the bullying game than by putting the hurt and terror involved with such unnecessary acts out in the open. Good on you, Kate Gosselin, for telling your story so others can learn from it.
