Kate Gosselin is in Alaska with her eight children and will go camping with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. Wow, politics -- and reality tv -- certainly do make strange bed (or in this case, tent) fellows!

"Sarah, Kate and the kids will go camping," a source told InTouch, adding that Palin's father, a retired science teacher, and brother, a third-grade instructor, will provide a natural history lesson for Gosselin's 9-year-old twins Mady and Cara, and 6-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Collin, Leah, Hannah and Alexis.

Palin, who's the mother of five (and grandmother to daughter Bristol's son, Tripp), is looking forward to meeting Kate. "She's excited because it will be fun and educational for the children," says the source. "Sarah will even teach Kate how to avoid bears!"

On July 20, the Gosselins visited the Alaska Zoo, where they checked out a petting zoo, a polar bear exhibit and observed a wolf pack.

SARAH AND KATE ARE BOTH AVID RUNNERS

While the rendez-vous may sound bizarre, Palin, 46, and Gosselin, 35, have more in common than people may realize. First, both are hot mamas with large families. Second, both women are fitness fanatics who run to stay fit.

"Running is my sanity," Sarah has said. Palin routinely ran 7 to 10 miles almost every day but switched to aerobics classes when she became pregnant with her fifth child, Trig (who was born in 2008). After his birth, Palin worked her way back up to running three miles every other day.

Kate, who's now skinner than ever, credits running for keeping her mentally and physically sharp. "I run to get away," she says. "I enjoy the pain and accomplishment of running five miles up and down hills each day."

PALIN'S REALITY SHOW TO AIR ON TLC IN NOV. 2010

Another huge commonality between Sarah and Kate is that both are reality tv stars. Sarah is launching her own reality show on TLC (the same channel that airs Kate's shows, Kate Plus 8 and Twist of Kate).

Palin will reportedly earn over $1 million per episode for the eight-part series exploring the natural beauty of Alaska. It will be produced by Mark Burnett (who created Survivor and Celebrity Apprentice). Her program, Sarah Palin's Alaska, will air Nov. 14.

well, another bullcrap site populated by lousy, sewer dwelling liberal dolts... how is the smell down there? or can't you smell it because you are so used to living in the bullcrap?

Could Kate have found the perfect way to dodge the Pennsylvania law about kids under the age of seven filming for TV? Maybe it's different in Alaska. These special episodes could span the rest of the season and boost ratings, especially among the Palin-worshiping stay-at-home moms with large families. Whoever 'conceived' this Alaska campout thing was very smart.

Penny: Much to my chagrin I think you're right.

Wow. What an incredible experience for the kids. I hope they have a great time. Can't wait to see the show on this trip.

OMG! The 'sheeple' must be in a frenzy! The two biggest media bottom feeders all on one show.
TLC has gone beyond being bottom dwellers with this match up.
Would rather watch paint dry than anything to do with these two.

Must be a slow news day. Who is Kate Gosselin and why should anyone care that she goes camping in Alaska??? Sarah Palin is camping with her because....??? Must be a photo op in there, or is the media ready to publish just any old thing about this opportunist?

Sounds exciting; but then, Sarah Palin is always exciting.

If Kate and 8 are in Alaska who's feeding the chickens?

NO wonder she fled to Alaska - it's easy filming - the kids don't need any permits to work so the mom and TLC can exploit them all they want, as long as the Penn state special work permits doesn't have something in there for filming elsewhere in the country. The FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act, a federal wide law) says that children ages 14 and younger working in Performance are exempt from the FLSA. Alaska State Law for Children in Performance appears to have NO LAWS protecting kids.

Dear Ms. Chang: "both are hot mamas with large families." Seriously? You think these two are "hot"? How much did you pay for your journalism degree? Or did you, like Ms. Palin, quit halfway through your college career and just wing it?

A more accurate description would be "Both are mothers who are willing to exploit their children if it will help them make a buck or achieve fame."

I'm all for any show $arah is on. There has never been a Presidential candidate who has gone down this idiotic path. A Palin-Gosselin reality show would be awesome & the ultimate train wreck. $arah can do all this stupid stuff but if she runs she is going to HAVE to sit down & have a weighty conversation on the issues. A debate with Obama would be a debacle for $arah.
I'd love to see some serious banter between $arah & Kate about international travel for the brood & someone bringing up the G-20. Would the 2 of them have a clue what this is, what they do & what are the member countries & its leaders? I'll bet Maddy Gosselin knows what the G-20 is.
However $arah & Kate would definitely want to meet Carla Bruni for fashion guidance on the top designers. These Mama Grizzlies do like their fancy clothes. I do want to see $arah & Kate on the French Riviera in their bikinis with the children cavorting in the sand. They'd love a cover with Vogue.

How can the economy be in such crisis and this kind of money being paid because someone turns on their tv?
