Kate Gosselin allegedly abused her eight small children with over-the-top spankings due to her inability to cope with the chronic stress in her life.

The revelations allegedly came straight from Gosselin's own journal entries, which were published in a shocking tell-all book by Robert Hoffman called "Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World."

In one journal entry, Kate confessed that she had spanked her son Collin so hard she was worried she might have seriously hurt him. Gosselin revealed that a "stress meltdown" had fueled the spanking episode in his book:

The kids were outside playing and Collin poured some beans on the floor and was sent inside. He didn’t like that so he knocked down some high chairs in the kitchen and that set Kate off.

Kate said she was instantly so angry that she grabbed him and spanked him as hard as she could and thought that she may seriously injure him so she sent him to his crib and whipped him into it very hard!”

According to "Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World," Kate decided to leave Collin (who was then two years old) in his crib alone until her then-husband, Jon, got home from work because she was afraid she might hurt the baby.

This isn't the first time Gosselin's alleged spankings and rumored child abuse have made headlines. In 2012, tabloid reports claimed that Gosselin had admitted to hitting her kids with a wooden spoon and pulling them by their hair in fits of anger.

Whether the child abuse rumors are true or not, Kate has publicly admitted to having a hectic, stressful life, exacerbated by the negative attention surrounding her bitter 2009 divorce from Jon Gosselin, the father of her eight children.

Began Running in 2010 For Stress Relief

Kate said she began running in 2010 to relieve stress and get in shape. "I have a lot of stress in life and [running] gets all of that out in a healthy way," Kate told Yahoo. "Looking good is a side benefit."

By 2012, Gosselin was running 10 miles every other day and had completed the Zappos Rock 'N' Roll Las Vegas Half-Marathon. She said running not only calmed her mind and reshaped her body, but gave her a tremendous sense of empowerment.

Kate hasn't publicly commented on the child abuse allegations, but suggested on Twitter that Hoffman had stolen her private journal entries for use in his book.

"Bottom line: They stole my property and are making $ off embellished versions of it," Gosselin tweeted. "I am NOT the 1 who should be ashamed!"
