Back in November, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale developer SuperBot Entertainment wasted no time in announcing the game's first two DLC characters -- Gravity Rush's Kat and Starhawk's Emmett Graves -- before the game was even released.
Now, however, we've gotten confirmation on when exactly the two new characters are coming: February 12th. They will be free for the first two weeks after their release, after which they will become paid DLC. So even if you don't own the game right now, you might as well download them while they're free in case you do eventually get it!
Along with the release date announcement, SuperBot released Kat and Emmett gameplay trailers, demonstrating several of their moves and combos and all of their supers. The Kat trailer is right here in this article, while you can check out the Emmett trailer right here.
SuperBot has confirmed that all planned DLC characters, including Kat and Emmett, will receive the same treatment as the 20 launch characters, with their own biographies, "story" mode cutscenes, and alternate costumes.
Along with Kat and Emmett, the game's first DLC stage, called "Fearless," will also be released on February 12th. The stage is a mashup of early PS3 title Heavenly Sword and long-running futuristic racing series WipeOut, and it will also be free for two weeks before becoming paid DLC. Even those who choose not to download the new stage will be able to play it online in both ranked and non-ranked matches, while downloading it obviously lets you choose it whenever you want in local, offline matches.
SuperBot has said that they plan to reveal more DLC characters and other forthcoming content in March.
