There were so many beautiful dresses to admire on the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on May 5, 2014 in New York City according to RCFA. No design came close to the gown worn by the beautiful Karolina Kurkova. This year's theme was called White Tie And Decorations. Guests were encouraged to wear something a bit retro and we expected to see many ballgowns.
Karolina stepped out in a dramatic and ultra feminine strapless blue ballgown from the 2011 spring collection by Marchesa. The look was very retro and very Charles James. This year's Met Gala was being held to celebrate the new exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum Of Art called CHARLES JAMES: Beyond Fashion which runs from May 8, 2014 - August 10, 2014. The exhibition will look at this amazing designer's career and will showcase 75 of his most impressive designs.
The Marchesa ballgown Karolina selected was strapless and featured a winged bodice. There were two-tiers of fabric adorned with giant white florals that appeared to be painted and 3-dimensional. She kept everything minimal including her hair, makeup and accessories. She did add a jaw-dropping diamond Harry Winston choker.
Bravo Marchesa for creating such a beautiful look for Karolina. Simply breathtaking!
