Atlanta fashionistas, model Karolina Kurkova may be creating a new fashion trend for all we know but that mini skirt over a knit dress look will undoubtedly be the stuff of many a debate!
Kurkova attended a benefit for the United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Foundation at Carnegie Hall, with a performance by Jay-Z, on February 7, 2012 decked out in no less than a tight-fitting burgundy and beige knit dress, which she topped with a somewhat mismatched grey mini leather skirt, embossed with an alligator pattern.
She also accessorized with a horn cuff, worn on top of the sleeve, much like the short over-skirt, in similar colors – in that she was consistent.
The big question is, was the look intended or was she being covered up for modesty, especially for the photoshoot as well as the guests at the event.
You see, the knit dress, or should I say the “netted” dress appears to show her legs underneath and probably a whole lot more if not for the itty bitty skirt worn on top…
As for my humble opinion, the see-through dress could’ve easily been worn with a slip underneath or paired with skinny jeans which are trending in burgundy right now and easily available.
Karolina also has a very nice burgundy leather jacket and burgundy pumps that would’ve gone well with the net dress.
But the look was most innovative if anything and for that one has to give the part Czech and part Slovak model full credit!
Judge for yourselves if the look works in my slide show y’all and thanks for visiting my page as always…
