Yesterday’s second episode of “Karma’s a B-tch!” someone who knows plenty about karma, when he played Bobby 'Bacala' on the Sopranos. His real name is Steve Schrippa, and he hosts this show where people who enjoy seeing revenge, have their day.
This episode takes place in beautiful Santa Cruz, Calif. Kaira was looking for a serious relationship, and as an expert on the internet, used her savvy to find a guy to settle down with and live happily ever after. She found Robert Walker, who brought her flowers on their very first date. Within two months, they were engaged, but her Ivy League intellect was no match for this con artist. Kaira had an awesome income, and she was just what Robert was looking for, as she paid for everything, like the $40,000 honeymoon.
While she was working, he managed his stock portfolio, and even gave her a chance to buy in on the action. She borrowed against her house to ensure their bright future. Soon, she started to catch on, his lies, his fake IDs and the false promises of money that will be coming in soon. She discovered he was a criminal, a scam artist, and her diamond was a fake. She soon discovered that he not only did not love her, but he truly hated her.
He even rented an apartment using her name and her credit, but it was a crime of identity theft, by this financial vampire. Now $100,000 in debt, she trusted her local prosecutors to bring this cad to justice, but the authorities were in no rush to do this. The warrant was out, but they did not pick him up for months, despite her desperate calls. She was doubly betrayed by Walker and the legal system which let him out on probation. Next he moved to San Francisco and aimed his hooks into another woman with a healthy bank account, a cooking teacher, Malia Chang; now the new Mrs. Walker.
Before long, Malia is broke, alone and angry, but Malia had someone to reach out to; Kaira. Kaira told her not to expect anything from law enforcement. The two come to the realization, that if justice is to serve this guy, it will have to be at their hands.
Being two intelligent women, and with much more motivation than the California authorities, they planned their revenge. By going through the files he left behind, they both had enough evidence to conclude that he was an identity thief, a forger and a con man. When they went to the police with all they discovered, they handed them his career as a criminal on a silver platter. Having violated his probation, Walker is laying low, but arrogant enough to think that Malia, who is still legally married to him, may want him back. When he called her, she acted very excited to hear from him and proposed a rendezvous, in San Francisco, where he could be arrested, and surely he was arrested and convicted in an open-and-shut case.
In the next case, a woman named Sim Lawrence was living a great life with two children and a doctor for a husband. One day it all crumbled, when it was found out that the doctor was stalking his secretary. The hospital issued a slap on the wrist to him, but this aspiring songstress, wrote a song and it was played on the radio about the scandal he brought upon them; now for the whole world to hear.
Next, in Albemarle, N.C., a peaceful part of the country, the Jordan family with a 15-year-old daughter Hannah, felt that her family did not understand her. Her father is an IT man, and her step-mother is a vet for large animals. There is no room for slacking in the Jordan household, and Hannah was supposed to do her chores, but chose to be on her laptop instead. When she had a blowup with her parents because the chores were not done, she took to Facebook. Having blocked her parents with her privacy settings, her dog was not blocked. Yes, the dog had a Facebook account, and her father saw this: “To my parents, I am not your damn slave. It’s not my responsibility to clean up your shit. We have a cleaning lady for a reason. Her name is Linda, not Hannah.
If you want coffee, get off your ass and get it yourself. If you want a garden, shovel the fertilizer yourself, don’t sit back on your ass and watch me do it. If you walk in the house and get mud all over the floor that I just cleaned, be my guest, but clean it up after you are done getting shit everywhere.
I’m tired of picking up after your shit. You tell me at least once a day that I need to get a job. You could just pay me for all the shit that I do around the house.
Every day when I get home from school, I have to do dishes, clean the counter tops, all the floors, make all the beds, do the laundry and get the trash. I’m not even going to mention all the work I do around your clinic.”
So dad decided to give Karma a helping hand and took his 45 and unloaded the entire clip into her laptop. He filmed the entire thing, from reading her letter to shooting the laptop and posted it on her Facebook page. But that was not the end of it; the video went viral with over thirty-five million views and soon the news programs were calling the family. Since this happened, the father and daughter have had a better relationship. It was a teenager having a bad day, and a father who found out more about the internet, than he could have ever imagined on this episode of “Karma’s a B-tch!”
