Karla Bauer debuts 9/11 tribute song

Award winning vocalist Karla Bauer releases “He Rose – Heroes” in honor of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.

From desire to destiny

Donna Scheidt had a lifetime of experience as a poet, but crafting lyrics was a new journey that began with “He Rose – Heroes”. This song is the product of her deep reflections that grew into a desire to comfort those who mourn.

9/11 was a defining moment in our country's history, and is always a time of reflection for me. I think back to what that day said about who we were as a nation, and about the countless individuals who sacrificed so much in their service to others. This song was the direct result of that reflection. I imagined the first responders - before 9/11. What had their lives been? Who were they? And, to the people who knew them best and loved them unconditionally, how do you fill the void left by their sacrifice? They were then, and are now, heroes. Some gave their lives with greatness, for those they didn't know, and they rose from the ashes of tragedy. - Donna Scheidt

After “He Rose – Heroes” was crafted, Donna turned to Karla Bauer for advise. Karla's enthusiasm for the song opened the door to it's destiny. She guided Donna to producer Joe Mills. The melody and arrangement was the work of Nate Dean.
